Pottery ‘Kleiemarije’ has a cosy workshop close to the town centre of Alkmaar. Sales take place in this workshop but also courses and clay-arrangements are held here.

Courses

Pottery making is a craft with a long and rich past. It is also a craft that requires concentration. Practise makes the various techniques perfect and you will be able to create your own artifacts. During the course you get acquainted with several techniques like the thumbtechnique, rolltechnique and platetechnique. There is also a possibility to learn how to use a potter’s wheel. Finishing the pieces of work, like glazing and decorating, are also part of the course.

Clay-arrangements

For groups that want to take part in group activities and get acquainted with clay, pottery ‘Kleimarije’ offers several arrangements. We are specialized in kids parties and bachelor parties. For a family party or a ‘day with the colleagues’ you can also come to us.

Visit and sales

Pottery ‘Kleiemarije’is open on Thursday and Friday afternoon from 13.00 – 18.00 hrs. For a visit outside opening hours it is possible to make an appointment by phone.

In consultation with Pottery ‘Kleiemarije’ special wishes and/or assignments can be realized.

Apart from many ceramic gifts we also have a large range of whitewooden items (e.g. wooden shoes and nameplates) in which you can have a name and/or assignment engraved by our ‘pyro engraver’. Remarkable are also our blown glass jewellery in which a grain of rice is kept. On the grain of rice a name can be written by our ‘grain of rice writer’. Extremely special!!!
